I got a "Hey, this is your secret admirer, want to meet up?!" text in TS4. I agreed to it, and it was from Judith Ward. The romance bar is halfway full but my Sim still can't talk to her beyond the regular attempt-to-meet-a-celebrity interactions. 🙄

this is what happens when they constantly add in new shit and don't bother to make it compatible with the old shit because they're too busy working on even newer shit they can sell. going back and fixing things and making it compatible doesn't make money

01. Honestly I have story progression on + disabled aging for unplayed households because I like how some of the townies look and I don't want them to get killed off. Plus I am too fucking lazy to make new Sims so I just give them a makeover and let my Sim marry them.

Yes, the game spawning really ugly, weird-looking, clown-clothes-wearing townies is why I don't let unplayed households age. I too am sick of the same old premades, but if you let those die off, you end up with such a mess of townies that it's just annoying.

omg my favorite streamer who i have given money to for alleged computer upgrades, just posted in her streamer friend's chat that they spent 2 months of tip money on a gacha game. omfg. i gave this fucker money so they could upgrade their computer and literally they spent it on gacha.......... i'm such a fucking moron

literally, i feel like such a huge dumbass right now. i mean, logically i know perfectly well that people do whatever they want but i really thought this person would use this money for the purpose they said they are asking for it for. and now it's just like oh. it just gives me this weird shitty feeling. however i only gave 20 bucks so i guess that was a cheap way to learn this lesson.

literally this person said they need to upgrade their computer so they can play inzoi! i know you're right and once you give money to somebody they have every right to do whatever they want with it. but this person is literally fundraising for computer components and tracking how much money has been donated so i'm like. wow. really??? i mean i sure learned my lesson tho and won't be giving this person another penny. not sure i'll even stay subscribed to them at this point

This is really random and I know it's an odd place to ask, but is there a term for someone who is a former addict, no longer actively using, but still just kind of treats other people like shit and takes advantage of them? My uncle was a drug addict and is now clean, but he still has that shitty behavior. Where he just takes advantage and walks all over my mom and grandfather, he is selfish, he's careless, he lies about everything, he just takes and takes and takes. He's not using anything except people at this point. But he still has that trashy shitty behavior like he used to when he was doing anything he could to get drugs/money to buy drugs. He isn't stealing stuff anymore (well, he's not stealing valuable stuff to sell, but he certainly doesn't hesitate to help himself to food, drinks, toilet paper, etc to take home without asking first, when my mom and dad bought that stuff), he isn't doing as much reckless stuff, but he just is careless. Selfish. Entitled. He says no one understands how hard it is and we should have more sympathy. I'm sick of his shit and frankly I'm also sick of my mom giving him more and more chances. My parents are in their 50s now and they aren't in the best of health and his bullshit is stressing them out. My grandpa too. It pisses me off so much that my mom keeps accommodating him, I hate him and his trashy girlfriend and I wish they would both fuck off forever. My mom talks tough but then she starts feeling bad and gives in to him every single time. This has been going on for literally my entire life. We were really poor when I was little but as we stabilized (not that we're well-off now, just not dirt broke) he starts moving in to take advantage.

Sorry to go on a rant on sim secret lmao. But I'm just tired of it and I even run out of sympathy for my mom because she keeps tolerating his shit instead of telling him to leave. If he would just once in his life take responsibility and, like, maintain a stable job, even working at a fucking McDonald's, I wouldn't hate him so much. But he can't even work at McDonald's. They offered him a job and he didn't want to do it because it was too many hours and he wouldn't get enough time off. ???? Instead he wants to do these odd jobs so he can flake out and not have any kind of schedule he has to stick to, he can just do stuff if/when he wants, and otherwise if he doesn't feel like working he can take a nice lil break and come sponge off my parents.

yes, i have heard the term 'dry drunk' used to describe people like that. your uncle sounds like the exact definition of that term. it's someone who still has a lot of the self destructive behavior that addicts have, but they aren't drinking or using anymore. they simply haven't matured or grown past the self destructive activities

Don't feel bad. That's how you're supposed to do the juror job.
There was a murder trial here a couple years back and we all knew the defendant was guilty as sin and I got called for jury duty. I had to excuse myself because I knew his mother.

agreed anon. that's exactly how it's supposed to work. you collectively as the jurors didn't feel that it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt so you didn't find him guilty. that's 100% right. you're supposed to do that rather than send someone to prison when you think there's a reasonable chance that they might be innocent

I've just noticed something in Eco Lifestyle. In a new save Tina Tinker is the master crafter. In my current save Tina and Yasmin adopted two children, both of them are now adults and her adoptive daughter has had a daughter of her own. The master crafter trait is passed on. So Tina's son and daughter are master crafters and her grand daughter is also a master crafter. I'm not aware of other NPC traits that do this.

i had no idea that was a thing, that's cool. so if you move tina into your household and make her your playable sim, she loses the master crafter title right? it's like santa and the robber and the bartender? i pay very little attention to that expansion so idk how it works
