Don't feel bad. That's how you're supposed to do the juror job.
There was a murder trial here a couple years back and we all knew the defendant was guilty as sin and I got called for jury duty. I had to excuse myself because I knew his mother.

agreed anon. that's exactly how it's supposed to work. you collectively as the jurors didn't feel that it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt so you didn't find him guilty. that's 100% right. you're supposed to do that rather than send someone to prison when you think there's a reasonable chance that they might be innocent

Also agree. The general thinking behind it is that it's better to let a guilty man go than it is to put an innocent man in prison. Sometimes there isn't a good outcome, but you try to go with the one that is less bad.
