What is this thing of saying "happy new year"? Your 2023 sucked and here are people wishing you a happy 2024. That year will also suck and you all know it.

mine was ok. it sure could have been worse. it was better than 2019 through 2021 for me. probably a little better than last year too

my '23 was good, 24 might get even better

I already lost everything I loved in 2023 (my elderly pets both had to be put down few months apart 😭) so at least the next year can't take them from me anymore. That alone makes it automatically a better year to be. Though I guess I might still get even more sick than I already am or the war might spread in my country too so there is a chance for things to still get worse. There's just no winning.

I feel like β€˜23 was so miserable there’s no way next year could be worse, but I always think that and it always is 😬

Which war are you referencing and what are you sick with? I reckon the only thing you can do if the war spreads, is make sure you have a go bag packed. ID, passport, any other important documents, maybe a bit of cash. A change of clothing, medication, sanitary pads/tampons, a bit of food with a long shelf date, anything small that you will want to take with if you need to suddenly run.

I am most likely going to have to put down my oldest cat in the next month. She has developed chronic health problems that I am not being able to successfully manage at home. Part of it is that she possibly developed cancer in an inoperable spot and I think it is also impacting on me being able to manage her elderly health issue. I've been battling seriously bad anxiety for about 5 months and personally life has been battering me other the head with one thing after another. I may not be live near a country at war but my own country is in a state of crisis and a lot of shit can hit the fan in 2024

I'm really hoping that life will start easing up and one can have a breather.

I'm pretty concerned about next year. This year was ok for me, but I think things won't be so good next year. I have some family members who aren't doing well.
