Why would you even spend time with these people? Sounds like they bunch of narcissist bullies.
I used to have this situations, where I was considered as killjoy and my only response to this - If you don't like the way I am, don't ask to come, I'm not a clown. Maybe this sounds like I'm a little bit an asshole, but ain't those people are, who expecting others to be their entertainment.
Fuck, we all have bad days and being sad and angry sometimes is normal. And these kind of feelings doesn't look at calendar when to come.

For whatever reason you don't feel like celebrating, it's your call what to do. Anyway, you always could put Covid card.

I'm the anon that made the secret and it's been the same for me. While I do experience glitches and bugs within the game, it's never been anything game breaking. I've been playing the same save file for three years. Any performance issues such as frame rate drops, are the same between both computers and I can fix these issues by myself. Removing excess townies, purging ghosts and deleting cache files is all I need to do. The game should do this by itself but it doesn't.

It makes me wonder how many people have bought new computers to play TS4 because they thought it was a hardware issue when it's an issue with the game itself and it happens regardless of how powerful the computer is.

Just use Brave. It's much better than Chrome while being Chromium based.

I remember when Chrome replaced Firefox or explorer because Chrome was the new hot thing and other browsers were shit. So Brave is the new one to take over?

I was watching simtuber who said sims 4 lags a lot no matter how powerful computer you have. But I dont think I experienced the type of lag I saw him having.

Granted, my save game is most of the time fresh and 1-2gens. And I also delete cache files, repair the game from time to time, delete random townies constantly because they are fucking ugly ducklings anyway.
I also manage my mods quite well.

Anyone else experiencing this lag?

I recommend Vivaldi instead, it's highly customizable and they've already said they're not going to follow along with chrome allowing more ads and tracking etc. Also Brave mines bitcoins and IMHO nothing that does that should be supported period.

What are your New Year's Sim Resolutions?

Mine is: do more fun and enjoyable things and stop thinking what's popular and acting accordingly. Maybe learn a new skill while at it.

I get the same lag that everyone else gets when switching between build buy mode and live mode. I open the menu and it goes away.

Another factor as to why the game probably lags so much for certain people is that if they aren't tech literate is that their Windows installation is probably full of bloatware and unnecessary background tasks that take resources away from the game.

I wouldn't call Brave the next Chrome. Most people still use Chrome because they either don't care or aren't tech literate enough to install an alternative browser. I recommend it because it's one of the browsers that I use and it just werks. It has it's own built in adblocker that is fairly robust without breaking websites. When used in combination with uBlock it nukes 95% of ads and annoyances from internet browsing, including youtube ads, without needing to install and configure a lot of addons as would need to be done with Chrome or a Firefox fork.
