A video released on the Sims' Twitter account on August 1st 2023 revealed what many players had suspected: Roberto Crinkletop was formerly known as Robert Crumplebottom, who ran away from an unhappy marriage with Agnes in Henford-on-Bagley as an adult, to start a new life as a ranch hand in Chestnut Ridge after staging his own death. The video ends with Agnes arriving at the dance hall and Roberto fleeing on his horse.
