this person has gotta be a (boring) troll. the motive drain in sims 1 is much faster than in sims 4. skills are gained much slower and come only from training them deliberately, eg sims will never gain cooking skill from preparing food, only from studying cooking at the book case. there are no weekends so every day is a work and school day. you have to have friends to get promoted in your job and visiting sims aren't as easy to get along with and are much more likely to reject your interactions if you haven't taken care of their needs
yes ofc if you play it for long enough you get the hang of things and can manage your sims well. duh. but in sims 4 you don't have those challenges so it's much easier right from the start
