i hate overly colorful pictures too and i'm tired of seeing them populate the ts3 tags. some big ts3 simblr needs to start calling out that childish aesthetic like ts4 simblr did with the beige aesthetic.

They actually said in one stream that they realized that there's a whole generation of kids who were born while the Sims 4 has been the current game and realized that they're their future customers so they truly are now trying to appeal to the kids at the moment, you're not just imagining it. My theory is that project Renesmee was going to be Sims 5, but when the community didn't orgasm over it in unison they had to backpedal - just like happened with Project Olympus/Sims 4. It was supposed to be an online multiplayer game too originally but the feedback from the community (+the flop of SimCity) forced them to change that. I'm sure the feedback from community again convinced them that Sims players still don't want an "always-online multiplayer experience" so they changed it to be "not the main line game" because otherwise the people would riot.

This is why Sims is now my secondary game, as I'm more eager with Life by You and Rimworld. The latter's theme might be too violent for some people, but I like it because it means they wont target random children unlike Sims.
If Sims goes to the G-rated route where everything is wholesome and family friendly, I'd be happy to ditch it for good.(note that I dont hate wholesome things but if it feels too much I dont like it either)
