"MAP" has been around for years by now, it was really popular back on 4chan and similar places where people pretended to be pedos who wanted to join the LGBTs. Well, "pretended". One of my edgy childhood friends used to joke about being a MAP. He hated gays and queers but was literally a lolicon so his MAP jokes weren't that funny.

but maps didnt start at 4chan imo for what i recall. it's been since years all over weirdo communities in twitter and reddit, mostly mentally ill children and young adults, some overalp with certain fandoms and furries

Not sure where it actually originated from, I just know that it has been around for years and used by people to make fun of LGBTs and push the old "gays are pedos".
Even kids on Tumblr "roleplayed" as MAPs as well as other edgy stuff like rabiesgender and helicopter-sexual because they thought it was hilarious to see people's wild reactions, but then some sickos actually embraced the term.

That's the problem with trolling - you think you've come up with some absolute outlandish shit that will make others uncomfortable and mad but then you suddenly meet idiots who agree with what you say and it's no longer as fun...
