this is very true. if you go read the snark sub, you'll see that most people there will say that they used to be a fan of hers/they loved her sims content. people only got invested and cared about the drama because of how she built an audience of people who were interested.
it's like, yesterday i mentioned that my favorite streamer is finally back and playing sims. she has never been a huge streamer but despite having been back for less than a month she's already up to around 40 viewers per stream. meanwhile she has a streamer friend she talks about all the time who, despite having streamed consistently for years, never has more than 10 viewers at a time. she works hard at it but she just doesn't have the charisma that the one i watch has. it's sad but true. cindy was the same way. she had something about her that people enjoyed watching/listening to and that's how people started to watch & care about her content
